Breve Nos Cinemas

Overview

Breve Nos Cinemas is a cinematic creation conceived and written by Pedro Morbeck and Júlia Zakarevics, who also star in the film. The inspiration for the project arose during their film studies at IESB in Brasília. Under the direction of Rafael Morbeck, and with the support of the Fundo de Apoio à Cultura of the Secretaria de Cultura do Distrito Federal, what was originally intended to be a short film evolved into a feature-length film. The narrative follows a film student so immersed in various projects that he begins to experience hallucinations, leading him to question his own reality.

Challenges & Achievements

The addition of Vinicius Machado to the production was a game changer, catapulting the project into a feature-length format. Currently, we are in the final stages of tweaking and remastering. It is important to note that at the beginning of this venture, the production company behind the work was HTRON Cinema and Vídeo - whose logo is present in the trailer - which later evolved into Merun Filmes.

The Result

This reimagined feature film will re-debut at the end of 2023 at the prestigious Brasília Film Festival. Interestingly, the festival will not just serve as a stage for the presentation, but is also woven into the plot in a clever use of metalinguage.
